Catechesis Of The Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based, experiential educational program focused on liturgy and scripture. Children direct their own learning in a carefully prepared environment (an “Atrium”) which supports children’s unique capabilities and interests, and gives them the opportunity to grow in love and knowledge of God through the Christian tradition.
CGS is offered for two age groups: The Good Shepherd Atrium (Ages 3-6) and The True Vine Atrium (Ages 6-9.) Children are introduced to the Atrium on the first day of class in the Fall, or by appointment during the school year.
If you are interested in joining mid-year, please contact Amanda Wischkaemper for more information.
Taking inspiration from Adult Formation’s “Journey Groups” Junior Journeys will offer age-appropriate, short-term courses that focus on specific topics in children’s walk with and path to God.
- Junior Journeys are offered for two age groups:
Travels with Jesus (Ages 3-5) is a movement based dynamic lesson that includes compasses and other tools to walk in Jesus’ footsteps
- Older children (Grades 1-5), will be offered of several thematic and finite “journeys.” Some of the Journeys this year may include Fear Not!, Advent in Narnia, Harry Potter and the Way of Love, Creation Care, Parables of Jesus, The Way of Discipleship, Lego Bible Study, Different Ways to Pray, and more!
