Dec. 20 | Celebration of Mother Katie’s Ministry at St. David’s

Sunday, Dec. 20, 4 p.m. We said goodbye to Mother Katie with an all-parish Zoom call, sharing Christmas carols and memories. We wish her well as she prepares to become the Rector of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

You’re invited to submit a video message or photo to be included in a personalized custom video for Katie Wright.

Photo/video submissions open until Dec. 26

PURSE FOR MOTHER KATIE

Dear Friends in Christ,

It is a long-practiced tradition for congregations to gather a “purse” for permanent, full-time clergy when they retire or leave a parish. It is a simple way to express our appreciation for faithful ministry and to wish someone well in their next call. Our dear Katie Wright is leaving at the end of the month to become the rector of St. Matthew’s here in Austin.
It may sound silly to say goodbye to someone who is not going very far away. However, while she will remain near us, her ministry among us will end, so that she may fully embrace her new call.
As a way to say thank you and farewell, I invite you to consider donating to a purse for Mother Katie. (Note: these gifts are not tax-deductible because they are going to an individual). If you mail a check please indicate in the memo that it is for “Katie’s Purse.” You may also give online at stdave.org. On the homepage, click the DONATE button found on the top-right corner; then use the “select fund” feature and make your gift. Please do so by December 25.

Thank you,
Fr. Chuck

Please contact April Kerwin with questions. Thank you.
