Children are welcome in all our worship. We are the Body of Christ, and all are welcome in worship! We need to hear God’s Word, to pray and sing together, and to feel wanted, loved, and accepted. In worship, children may need to be more noisy and wiggly than most adults. Children sometimes need quiet guidance from parents to learn to experience and participate in liturgy. Both worship spaces contain shelves with quiet, liturgically-appropriate activities to help children follow the service and stay engaged; please ask an usher for assistance. Please see the Welcoming Children in Our Church brochure for further guidance.
Parents may find two of our services to be particularly family-friendly. The 9:10 Eucharist in Bethell Hall, also known as the “Family Service,” is well-suited for young families to feel comfortable with the joyful noise of children. The 9:00 Eucharist in the Historic Church offers Children’s Chapel for children ages 3-1st grade. During the Gospel Sequence, young children and their parents are invited to follow the Cross. Children worship together in the 1st floor Children’s Chapel, then rejoin their families at the Peace.
Please contact Amanda Wischkaemper, Director of Children’s Formation, with any questions.
