St. David’s offers Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Montessori-based) and Weaving God’s Promises (traditional child development) formation options for children ages 3 through 5th grade. We are always in need of more volunteer teachers and assistants on our team. Drop-off for Sunday school begins at 10:15 a.m. Classes begin at 10:25 a.m. and end promptly at 11:10 a.m.
Please contact Amanda Wischkaemper for more information.
Catechesis Of The Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based, experiential educational program focused on liturgy and scripture. Children direct their own learning in a carefully prepared environment (an “Atrium”) which supports children’s unique capabilities and interests, and gives them the opportunity to grow in love and knowledge of God through the Christian tradition.
CGS is offered for two age groups: The Good Shepherd Atrium (Ages 3-5) and The True Vine Atrium (Ages 6-9.)
Children are introduced to the Atrium on the first day of class in the Fall, and at periodic “entry points” during the school year. If you are interested in joining mid-year, please e-mail Amanda for more information.
Weaving God’s Promises
Weaving God’s Promises is a comprehensive Christian Education curriculum developed exclusively for the Episcopal Church and based on the guiding principles of worship, education, and outreach.
Lessons focus on Biblical knowledge, Liturgy and church history, Episcopal tradition, and Christian living. WGP encourages children to learn and be the Body of Christ with heads, heart, hands, and feet. Classes are grouped by grade, and offered for children age 3 through 5th Grade.
